Greenwich proudly welcomes back a breath-taking 40 strong fleet of Tall Ships and the event promises to go off with a real bang thanks in part to its spectacular fireworks display over the banks of the River Thames. The evening begins on board a river cruiser at Tower Bridge with a bubbly reception before a tasty finger buffet is served. You’ll be sailing through the heart of the action, past the world renowned Tall Ships in Greenwich. There’s a bar on board and with the landmarks of London spectacularly illuminated against the night sky, this really is the best way to enjoy both the Tall Ships and the city’s famous fireworks display.

We had a wonderful experience on our visit to The Mill in January, so we just had to return, this time for lunch and a play – an intriguing ‘whodunnit’ which twists and turns towards an edge-of-your-seat climax, leaving you guessing until the last chilling moment.
Having known and worked with Agatha Christie, who better to direct her plays than the remarkable Brian Blessed, who enjoyed tremendous success of SPIDER’S WEB and THE HOLLOW.

We visited Woburn Abbey last year for an enjoyable garden tour and a delicious afternoon tea, but this event is slightly different. It’s an event to celebrate National Afternoon Tea Week – The Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey presents ‘The Social History of English Afternoon Tea’.

We have reserved tables at this prestigious event on 14th August and the format of the day is:
• 12.30pm – arrival to the Sculpture Gallery
• 1.00pm – Illustrated talk by Gillian Walnes Perry MBE
• 1.45 pm – Afternoon Tea will be served. We are, of course, including a glass of bubbly.
• 3.00pm – Question and answer session.

Our morning visit is to Frogmore House which has been a favourite royal retreat for more than 300 years. It is no longer an occupied royal residence, but is frequently used by the Royal Family for private entertaining. We travel on to the Savill Garden where you can enjoy a Gardener’s Lunch in the company of one of the Royal Gardens team giving you an opportunity to ask an expert anything about the Savill Garden, or your own garden whilst enjoying a buffet lunch in a private marquee on the lawns. You can then enjoy the rest of the afternoon in the garden.

A landmark new stage production of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution takes place in London County Hall, planting audiences right in the centre of this gripping story of justice, passion, and betrayal.
We have tickets for the 7.30pm performance and have excellent seats in the front and second rows, so you will have a splendid view of the proceedings. This production immerses the audience in a unique courtroom setting, complete with drama and intensity. The actors will be in the aisles although the audience will remain seated throughout.
Before the performance we have arranged dinner at All Bar One, just a short walk away.
