| A Taste of Suffolk |

| Today we combine the timeless beauty of Constable Country with the modern trend for fresh local produce on a journey of discoveries including a truly hidden slip of Suffolk. We meet our guide for morning coffee at East Bergholt, then travel off the beaten track passing the Royal Hospital School founded at Greenwich 300 years ago. On to visit HMS Ganges Museum - unmissable for those who treasure our heritage. After a tasty sausage and mash lunch at Shotley Marina we visit a showcase for Suffolk foods on a working farm in an area of outstanding natural beauty by the River Orwell. Punch horses, Suffolk sheep and Red Poll cattle were bred here and exported worldwide. Finally we return to Constable's Stour Valley to visit Flatford Mill. |

We start our day with morning refreshments in Tetbury, famous for its Royal connections and we glimpse the Highbury estate as we drive out of town. We chart a course for Painswick, Queen of the Cotswolds - a gem. We stop to visit the churchyard where 99 clipped yews form a maze around the tombs. There's ample choice of pubs cafes and restaurants here for lunch. In the afternoon we drive to Malmsbury, England's oldest Borough where the Cotswolds meet the West Country. Here we visit the spectacular Abbey House Gardens of which Alan Tichmarsh said "The WOW factor is here in abundance". Round off the day with tea and cake before we head for home. |
