About this excursion

£85 (per person) This will be an opportunity to see the fabulous poppies at the Tower which commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. We are including a visit to the newly refurbished WW1 galleries at the Imperial War Museum and Martin, one of our favourite, very experienced Blue Badge Guides will be joining us for the day too.

IWM - WW1 Gallery We shall start at the newly refurbished Imperial War Museum for morning coffee and biscuits and there will be an opportunity view the new First World War Galleries which has re-opened following a two year refurbishment. Lunch with tea or coffee will follow at the Mad Hatter Pub – this is a very welcoming traditional London pub which proved to be very popular with our guests on our last visit.

We shall then return to the coach for a tour with our guide Poppies at the Towerand we shall travel beside the Tower of London where you will have an excellent view the poppies in the dry moat. At 4.55pm one of the Yeoman Warders will read names from the Roll of Honour.

We end the day with a stop at The Kitchen at the Tower. Situated next to All Hallows by the Tower and stone’s throw from the Tower of London, this is a surprising oasis on the edge of one of the busiest cities in the world. Tea and cake will be included here before we travel home. There will be minimal walking on this day.

The cost will include luxury coach transport, your guide for the day, entry to the Imperial War Museum, morning coffee, your lunch with tea or coffee, coach tour, afternoon tea and cake and, of course, treats.
