YOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1 UK/Zagreb Your holiday begins with a flight to Zagreb and an onward transfer to the tranquil resort of Opatija, on Kvarner Bay, your base for the next seven nights. Your hotel is located on Opatija’s seven-mile coastal promenade known as the Lungomare, which offers a stunning backdrop to the town’s grand villas, beautiful gardens, shops and cafés.

DAY 2 Istrian Peninsula To see more of the Istrian Peninsula join today’s full-day included excursion. First you’ll visit the town of Pula, home to an impressive almost perfectly preserved Roman amphitheatre (entrance is included). Enjoy lunch before moving on to medieval Rovinj, a delightful resort with a charming old town and a colourful harbour.

DAY 3 Lovran and Moscenice Today you’ll journey along the Lungomare to the picturesque town of Lovran, where a stroll around its town square will reveal Baroque architecture and the 14th century Church of St George. Step inside to admire medieval frescoes before continuing to Moscenice. Overlooking the coast, this medieval fortified town falls steeply towards the sea and boasts narrow, stone-paved streets dotted with ancient churches and elegant villas.

DAY 4 Plitvice Lakes Croatia’s Plitvice National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in a valley between forested mountainsides where 16 beautiful lakes spill into each other forming impressive cascading waterfalls. Today’s optional excursion includes a boat trip across Lake Kozjak, the largest in the park, and there will be free time to take lunch and enjoy the glorious scenery.

DAY 5 Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle Spend today at leisure in your resort or join our optional full-day excursion to neighbouring Slovenia. You’ll visit the Postojna Caves, incredible caverns carved over thousands of years by the Pivka River and filled with incredible stalactites and stalagmites. Your tour then moves on to the nearby Predjama Castle, which has perched precariously on a high cliff for the past 700 years.

DAY 6 Island cruise Soak up some sunshine and admire stunning coastal scenery on today’s included island cruise excursion. Our full-day relaxing boat trip takes you along the coast to the lovely island of Cres and Krk, where your skipper will drop anchor in a peaceful bay. Admire the picturesque surroundings, top up your tan and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters before enjoying a delicious seafood lunch on board.

DAY 7 Motovun & truffle lunch We’ve left today free for you to enjoy your resort but for those of you keen to explore we offer an optional half-day tour to the fortified hilltop town of Motovun. Its walls, which date back to the 13th and 14th century, are incredibly well preserved, and on a stroll, further highlights include Romanesque and Gothic-style houses and a Renaissance castle.

Your tour includes a light lunch and truffle tasting in the nearby village of Livade, where you will learn how these rare and much sought-after delicacies are sourced and prepared. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase some to take home as a delicious souvenir of your holiday.

Please note: Visiting Motovun requires ascending an uneven pathway.

DAY 8 Zagreb/UK Your holiday comes to an end as you transfer to the airport in Zagreb for your flight back to the UK.
