Guide Dog Training School

Following our successful visit to the Guide Dog Breeding Centre last year we are returning to Leamington Spa to visit their Training Centre – quite a different experience with more interaction with the dogs. We’ve found a lovely riverside pub just down the road where we can enjoy a two course lunch before our visit.

Following our very successful visit to the Guide Dog Breeding Centre, we return to Leamington Spa, but this time to their Training Centre.

The Guide Dogs Training School at Leamington Spa started in 1941 and today trains 220 dogs a year. They invite you to take part in the Guide Dogs experience and learn about their life-changing work. You will:

  • find out how it all began and how we train a guide dog
  • meet the dogs, interact with them and bring your camera for a picture of your favourite
  • discover more about sight loss
  • experience a blindfold walkGuide Dog Training 1
  • ask a trained tour guide anything you’d like to know about Guide Dogs
  • meet a guide dog owner or puppy walker

After our tour tea or coffee will be served and there is shop for souvenirs from our visit which, of course, also supports the charity.

Before our visit we’ve arranged a hearty two course lunch in a riverside pub – The Moorings and we shall send you the menu in advance to select your choices.

The cost of this event includes luxury coach transport from Milton Keynes, your two course lunch, visit to the Training Centre, donation of £10 to Guide Dogs and, of course, our usual treats.
