About this excursion

(£285 per person) Hotel with Cattle

Join is for a six day half-board Spring Break to Loch Achray. This hotel in the Trossachs is set serenely among woodland on the shores of mysterious Loch Archray and is overlooked by towering Ben Venue. Explore the 50 acre estate and ascend Ben A’an for breath taking views over Loch Katrine. Nearby Callander and Aberfoyle are both tourist centres that cater for all tastes.

The hotel has 87 comfortable, well-furnished en-suite bedrooms with tea making facilities, TV and Radio. There’s a lounge bar, reception seating area, dining room, ballroom and bar and a lift service to many bedrooms. The hotel also provides daily housekeeping and entertainment each evening.

The main foyer and staircase have seen an elegant refurbishment very recently. The Trossachs is one of Scotland’s best known scenic areas and the Loch Achray Hotel’s position at its very heart is unrivalled. There are 50 acres of grounds extending to the loch-side and, as a backdrop, Ben Venue rises to over 3,000 feet. There are forest paths to explore but, for those with a half day to spare, the most rewarding local walk is an ascent of Ben An for a breath taking view along the length of Loch Katrine. The town of Callandar is nearby and a few minutes away, just over the Duke’s Pass, lies the attractive tourist village of Aberfoyle.

This holiday has been arranged for Travel Treats with Lochs and Glens Holidays who have an excellent reputation for their Scottish holidays.

Our Itinerary

Day 1

Days 2,3,4 and 5. The following excursions will be included on these days, nut not necessarily in the order shown.

Lomond Sealife Centre, Loch Lomond with Cruise and Inversnaid Loch Lomond

This coach trip will provide a day to remember as it showcases Scotland’s first National Park. With dramatic views, iconic scenery and proud cultural heritage the excursion will comprise a variety of experiences from a special loch cruise to visiting an intriguing sea life centre. The tour will also offer you an incredible exploration of Loch Lomond, Britain’s largest and most famous body of fresh water while providing you with memories of a Scotland you will never forget.

Crieff & The Oldest Distillery in ScotlandCrieff

Beautiful Perthshire comes alive with rippling lochs and deep river gorges reflecting the ancient history, mystique and beauty of the area. The countryside is rich in folklore and mythology and the wild landscape provides a perfect backdrop for legend and storytelling as you journey through the attractive village of Killin. We visit Glenturret, making whisky today the same way since 1775. Scotland’s oldest distillery is the beating heart of The Famous Grouse. Discover how the distillery’s Glenturret single malt is carefully blended with other grain and malt whiskies to create the UK’s No.1 whisky, The Famous Grouse and sample some tantalising drams after.

Culzean Castle Culzean Castle 1

Originally a 16th century fortified tower house, Culzean Castle was converted by Robert Adam into the grand romantic castle we see today. The interior has been restored by the National Trust for Scotland and contains a fine collection of furniture, paintings and weapons. One of Scotland’s premier visitor attractions, Culzean is a place of true elegance and aristocracy – enjoy its gardens and designed landscapes, soak up its atmosphere and be inspired by its magnificent views over the water. A tour is included, so prepare for an excursion of high-class splendour!
