Poppies at the Tower and the Wallace Collection

About this excursion

£94 per person Poppies at the Tower 2 Our day will start at the Tower of London where you will be able to view the fabulous poppies. This is a major art installation – ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ marking one hundred years since the first full day of Britain’s involvement in the First World War. Created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper, 888,246 ceramic poppies have filled the Tower’s famous moat over the summer. Each poppy represents a British military fatality during the war.

We shall re-join the coach and make our way to Covent Garden for a bubbly reception, followed by a delicious two-course lunch with wine, tea/coffee in the private room at Christopher’s Grill.

We will then make our way by coach to the Wallace Collection at Hertford HouseWallace Collection, near Selfridges. This is stunning and they have just re-opened their Great Gallery after refurbishment and they have a new exhibition. Unfortunately at such short notice they are unable to provide guides for us, but you will be free to walk around the house and view the magnificent collection. Their website is http://www.wallacecollection.org/thecollection

The cost of this event will include luxury transport, a visit to the Tower of London, the Wallace Collection, your lunch as shown and, of course, treats.
