We take the Glacier Express to Zermatt and on the Gornergrat Railway – Europe’s highest open-air cog railway for the best views of the Matterhorn. ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival in Switzerland

Upon arrival in Zurich Airport, take the train to Davos Platz. For you convenience, your luggage will be transported directly to the hotel.

Day 2 Bernina Express to Tirano (Italy)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Bernina Express to Tirano. In Tirano, you will enjoy a typical 3-course Valtellina lunch before returning to Davos by train – the Bernina Express to Davos Platz.

Day 3 At leisure in Davos Davos

Breakfast at the hotel.

Explore the Davos-Kloster area at leisure. Your visitor’s card includes free travel during the day with all public cable cars within the destination and you can also benefit from additional free or discounted services and leisure offers.
Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Grischa, Davos.

Day 4 Glacier Express to Zermatt

Breakfast at the hotel. For you convenience, your luggage will be transported directly to the next hotel.Glacier Express

Regional train to Filisur followed by the Glacier Express to Zermatt. A 3-course lunch cooked on board the train will be served at your seat.

Day 5 Gornergrat

The Gornergrat Railway, Europe’s highest open-air cog railway, has existed for more than 100 years. From the viewing platform at 3135 meters, which is accessible year round, sweeping views extend from the Gorner Glacier to Monte Rosa with its ten snow-capped peaks as far as the Matterhorn.

This excursion can be done any time of the day. For a more special experience, take an afternoon train and enjoy an aperitif whilst enjoying the sunset before taking the last train down to Zermatt.

Day 6 – Lavaux Wine Region and Geneva

Trains to Vips, Vevey and RivazWone Region

A 10-minute walk by the lake will take you to the Lavaux Vinorama, a unique centre in the heart of the terraced vineyards of Lavaux (named World Heritage Site by UNESCO) and entirely dedicated to vines and wine. Here you will have the opportunity to taste 3 local wines: 2 white and 1 red. Additionally, an aperitif consisting of cold meats and cheeses from the region, bread and puff pastry sticks will be served with your wine.

We take the train Lausanne. followed by a train to Geneva

Rest of the afternoon and dinner at leisure.

Day 7 – Walking Tour of Geneva and return to the UK

In the morning a guide will take you on a two hour walking tour of Geneva’s historical centre and lake side. The rest of the day can be spent at leisure until the agreed time for the airport transfer (by private coach) and our journey home.

This holiday also includes return coach transport to London Heathrow Airport.

Single supplement – £165 per person/per stay.
