The Girls Musical and Dinner

About this excursion

£122 per person (£106 per person without Dinner)

This new musical comedy THE GIRLS is the true story of the YorkshireCast & writers CALENDAR GIRLS – a group of ordinary ladies who achieved something extraordinary. Their quest was to raise money to buy a sofa for the visitor’s centre at their local hospital.

By appearing in a nude calendar, they raised over three million pounds and became a global phenomenon. The musical will explore life in the Yorkshire village they called home, how their actions affected their families, and how they gained international fame.

Written with Tim Firth, The Girls is a musical inspired by the hit film Calendar Girls which enjoyed huge success on its 2003 release. Tim Firth wrote the film Calendar Girls, and grew up in the same town as Gary Barlow. They have been friends for twenty five years and The Girls marks their first collaboration.

About the Phoenix TheatreThe Phoenix Theatre is located on Charing Cross Road, in between the Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road underground stations. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, Bertie Crewe and Cecil Masey, the building is close to a host of shops and hotels, making it a key theatre in the West End. Opening in 1930, the Phoenix Theatre showed Noel Coward’s Private Lives, which starred Coward, Gertrude Lawrence and Laurence Olivier in one of his first roles. The Phoenix Theatre interior is very grand and is often considered to be one of London’s finest. Designed by director Theodore Komisarjevsky in an Italianate style, there are golden wall engravings and plush, red carpets which make the theatre exceptionally striking.

We have included an optional meal at The Cambridge, just a few yards from the theatre. The menu is shown below and we need you choices in advance please.
