The Stunning Amalfi Coast & Sorrento
This memorable tour will take us on a journey of discovery to one of the most spectacular coastal areas of Italy, the stunning Amalfi Coast. Experience the pretty café lined squares and busy marina of Sorrento as well as a boat trip to the glitzy island of Capri. Imagine life in Roman times, as you walk through the excavated Roman cities of Herculaneum and Pompeii, covered in volcanic debris after Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. We can relax around the swimming pool at our hotel and sample mouth-watering local dishes washed down with delicious wine from the region.

Day 1 – Fly to Italy and be met upon arrival. We travel to Alpha Hotel, Sant Agnello, our base for the holiday. Dinner with drinks will be included each
night at the hotel.
Day 2 – Today we have a full day exploring the Amalfi Coast. The day starts with a visit to Ravello, home to the stunning gardens of Villa Rufolo. 
With magnificent gardens, Moorish architecture and inspiring vistas, it is often described as a smaller version of Spain’s famed Alhambra and our visit here allows the opportunity to take some amazing photos. We’ll also stop in Amalfi with a visit to the Cathedral and free time to obtain lunch (not included, but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants around the Cathedral). Continue to picture perfect Positano, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Day 3 – Today we have a full day excursion to Capri. Our local coach takes us to the departure boat for the sailing across to 
the island of Capri. Our guide will take us on a walking tour of the town, followed by Our Hotel – Alpha Hotel – Sant Agnello The four-star hotel offers modern comfortable guest rooms and a range of facilities for a truly relaxing stay, a short distance from the iconic city of Sorrento as well as coastal villages of the Amalfi region. Stylish guest rooms feature air conditioning, TV, free Wi-Fi, balcony or terrace, hairdryer, writing desk and safe. Relax by the swimming pool surrounded by a terrace and garden or enjoy a drink at the lounge bar. Standard rooms are on the 1st floor with a garden or pool view. On request and subject to availability and a supplement of £210 per room, superior rooms with panoramic views are available. time for lunch and explore at leisure. Maybe enjoy some shopping in the bustling port of Marina Grande or take another boat to Capri’s famous natural attraction, the Blue Grotto. Alternatively, head to the Piazzetta for a coffee and celebrity spotting.
Day 4 – We travel to Sorrento to enjoy time in this beautiful cliff-top coastal town brimming with life before visiting the well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage
Site of Herculaneum, one of two cities buried in volcanic debris when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. The cities are the most important archaeological sites in the world as opulent houses, public baths, boathouses, frescoes and mosaics are preserved in time.
Day 5 – Pompeii & Vesuvius Following on from yesterday’s fascinating sightseeing, today we visit Pompeii, the other city covered by volcanic ash in 79 AD, as well as Mount Vesuvius itself. Also, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is much bigger and had double the population at the time of the Vesuvius eruption. Varied social classes and architectural styles are reflected in its well-preserved fine public buildings and luxurious homes.
Day 6 – Today we enjoy a full day at leisure.
Day 7 – After breakfast, we begin our journey back to the airport for our flight home. The exact order of excursions is subject to change and will be detailed in your itinerary which you will receive 2-3 weeks before we leave.
