We did this island hopping cruise last year and everyone absolutely loved it. We shall Adriatic 2cover some of the beautiful places we visited in 2016, but we’re planning on travelling in a southerly direction this time and we shall include Dubrovnik.

Your accommodation will be aboard the deluxe category ship MS President, exclusively used by Travelsphere customers. Built in 2012, this intimate coastal cruising vessel is designed to offer quality and comfort to all guests on board. You will enjoy a relaxed, informal cruising experience with up to 40 customers on board along with seven crew members who will look after you throughout your stay. Facilities on board include 20 spacious cabins with twin or double beds. All cabins have en suite facilities, a TV, safe and air-conditioning. Meals are cooked and prepared on board and served in the spacious restaurant, where there is also a bar. There is a sunbathing area on the top deck as well as a small gym. In addition to standard lower deck cabins, main deck and large main cabins are available at a supplement.

Your Itinerary

DAY 1 UK/SPLIT

Fly to Split, Croatia’s second largest city, where you’ll board your ship – MS President. Enjoy a welcome reception and a delicious lunch on board before beginning your 7 night cruise. Your first port of call is the island of Brac, where you’ll stop at the charming fisherman’s village of Sumartin or Milna. You’ll also enjoy a testing of Croatian wines and a welcome ‘PRESIDENT’ cocktail before dinner is served on board.

 

DAY 2 KORCULA

For a small country Croatia produces a huge amount of olives and the families of your captain and crew grow Mijetthem in their home village. On your way to the island we include an on board tasting of their home-grown olive oil while they explain the process. After lunch on board we arrive in Korcula, reputed to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo, for an included walking tour. You’ll stroll the island’s atmospheric streets which are watched over by the majestic St Mark’s Cathedral before enjoying free time. Why not find a seat in one of the excellent café-bars and savour a glass of the locally produced wine, or perhaps head to one of the lovely beaches. This evening we offer an optional excursion to Zmovo, where you can enjoy a guided walk through this typical Dalmatian village before being served a meal of local delicacies including moonshine aperitifs, macaroni and traditional croissants.

 

DAY 3 STON

Your journey continues today as you sail towards Siano, a picturesque coastal town from where a short bus ride will take you to Ston. Set in a calm shallow bay, this medieval fortress town boasts a rich history stretching back as far as the 14th century. Head out on a boat with a local fisherman to learn about the oyster farms the area is famous for. Later, take your seat in a restaurant overlooking the turquoise waters of the bay to taste these delicacies, accompanied by Croatian wine. After lunch enjoy a guided tour of the salt mine for which the town is also famed and discover the second longest stone wall in Europe. You’ll then transfer to Dubrovnik, where dinner is served on board your ship.

 

DAY 4 DUBROVNIKDubrovnik

Today you’ll enjoy a guided walk of Dubrovnik, which is a delight to explore on foot. Capture incredible photographs as you take the cable car from the Old Town to Srd Hill, which offers spectacular views over the city. This afternoon you can seek out a peaceful spot for lunch, admire the views out to sea from the ancient ramparts and wander along the famous Steadum (promenade) to the former Rector’s Palace, which is now a museum and the Franciscan Monastery, which houses the oldest pharmacy in Europe. You’ll be treated to a memorable evening on board as you enjoy a special Captain’s Dinner.

 

DAY 5 MIJET

Carpeted in dense forest, picture perfect Mijet is one of the most attractive of all the Adriatic islands. Enjoy lunch on board before stepping ashore to explore its impressive national park. Glorious saltwater lakes and lush scenery give way to intriguing architecture which comes in the form of a Franciscan monastery and a charming church. Perhaps rent a bicycle to discover more of the island before enjoying dinner in one of the delightful restaurants on the seafront.

 

DAY 6 HVAR/SOLTA

Today your ship arrives in one of Croatia’s most fashionable resorts, Hvar. Make sure you are on deck asHvar 2 the ship approaches the island – the views from the sea are stunning. You’ll step ashore in the main town, also called Hvar, where a guided tour will show you the key sights, including the striking Renaissance cathedral and Europe’s oldest community theatre. Hvar offers an abundance of restaurants and cafes overlooking the sparkling waters of the harbour and you’ll have time to enjoy lunch and soak up the bustling atmosphere. Next you’ll head to the peaceful island of Solta, stepping ashore in Stomorska – a lovely fishing village fames for its fleet of old wooden ships, once used to transport the island’s wine and olive oil to the mainland. Soak up the authentic Croatian atmosphere, mingle with the locals and discover the beautiful beaches. Dinner is served on board.

 

DAY 7 SPLIT

Enjoy a coffee in one of Stomorska’s cafes before we depart for Split, Croatia’s second largest city. SplitA guided walking tour will introduce you to the UNESCO – listed town, including the famous Diocletian’s Palace which lies at its heart. One of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments, the palace houses an assortment of bars, restaurants and shops within its old walls – a captivating collision of ancient history and buzzing modern life. Visit a market selling fresh produce before enjoying free time for lunch. Back on board you’ll experience a farewell ‘Croatian Heritage’ evening with live entertainment performed by local musicians. Taste Dalmatian specialities, including ‘soparnik’ – a savoury pie and ‘pasticad’, which is a stewed beef dish.

 

DAY 8 SPLIT/UK

After breakfast it’s time to disembark MS President and transfer to Split Airport for your flight back to the UK.
